Louis
Gears Up for the Playoffs
Way back in Season 2 of the Old
League (1991) Louis won the World Series despite finishing the regular
season with a sub-.500 record (77-85). When asked about this accomplishment,
Louis informed his competitors that the only reason for his subpar regular
season performance was because he had been “gearing up for the playoffs.”
